
Terps Host #11 Minnesota, #16 Wisconsin

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team (10-8, 0-4 B1G) welcomes two top-25 opponents to the XFINITY Center Pavilion this weekend as the Terps face No. 11 Minnesota (11-3, 3-1) Friday and No. 16 Wisconsin (10-4, 2-2) Saturday.
• The Terps face the Golden Gophers at 7 p.m. in the Pavilion. The match will be live streamed on BTN Plus.
• Maryland's match vs. the Badgers will also be streamed on BTN Plus on Saturday at 7 p.m.
• Live stats will be available for each match, and updates will be given on the Maryland volleyball Twitter feed.

• Fans can purchase a Buddy Pack ahead of time for Maryland-Minnesota, which includes two tickets, two sodas and two popcorns for $15. Kids 12 and under are invited to serve volleyballs on the court following the match.
• The Maryland-Wisconsin match is Dollar Dog Night. There will be an autograph session following the match.
• Parking lot 4b will be open for fans without a parking permit this weekend.

• Season tickets for Maryland volleyball are available online at umterps.com. Tickets for the Terps' 16 matches in College Park are $40 for adults and $25 for youths (3-17) or seniors (62+).
• Single-match tickets for volleyball are available here starting at $6 for adults and $4 for youths/seniors.
• Fans can purchase a Maryland Pride Pass for 2015-16, which includes admission to all men's and women's soccer games, volleyball matches, wrestling matches, men's and women's lacrosse games and baseball games starting at just $99.
Scouting the minnesota golden gophers
• The Gophers (11-3, 3-1 B1G) moved up in the rankings after defeating Northwestern and upsetting then-No. 7 Illinois last weekend.
• Daly Santana leads Minnesota and the Big Ten with 4.46 kills per set.
• Paige Tapp ranks 19th nationally in blocks per set (1.42), which ranks third in the conference.
• Samantha Seliger-Swenson has started every match at setter and is averaging 11.12 assists per set. Seliger-Swenson has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times this season.
• The Gophers rank 24th nationally in team hitting percentage with a .265 clip. The team also ranks 16th nationally in blocks per set (2.83), good for second in the conference.
• The Terps are 0-5 all-time against Minnesota. The last meeting was a five-set Gophers win in College Park on Nov. 19, 2014.
Scouting the wisconsin badgers
• The Badgers (10-4, 2-2 B1G) broke a three-match losing streak with wins over then-No. 7 Illinois and Northwestern over the weekend.
• 2014 Big Ten Setter and Player of the Year Lauren Carlini paces the conference and is ninth nationally with 11.56 assists per set. Carlini is the reigning Big Ten Setter of the Week.
• The Badgers also return 2014 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Taylor Morey, who leads the team wtih 4.50 digs per set.
• On offense, Kelli Bates leads the Badgers with 3.20 kills per set while Lauryn Gillis averages 3.02 kills per set. The Badgers rank 26th in the NCAA with 14.14 kills per set.
• Tionna Williams and Haleigh Nelson pace Wisconsin with 1.26 and 1.24 blocks per set, respectively.
• The Badgers hold a 2-0 series record against the Terps. Maryland fell, 3-0, to Wisconsin last season in Madison. This is the Badgers' first-ever trip to College Park.
terps set xfinity center pavilion attendance record
• Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion attendance record with 1,752 fans as the Terps fell to No. 9 Illinois last Friday.
• The previous attendance record was set on Sept. 16, 2006. The new attendance record ranks fourth in Maryland history.
• Since Steve Aird became head coach prior to the 2014 season, the Terps have set five of the top-10 attendance records in program history.
elliott leads maryland in b1g play
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott has posted four straight dominant performances as the Terps have begun Big Ten play.
• Elliott posted 17 kills on .213 hitting and made four blocks against Indiana last Friday. She notched a season-high 21 kills and a career-high five service aces against then No. 18 Purdue the following day.
• Against then-No. 9 Illinois, Elliott posted 12 kills and served three aces in the first conference match of the season. The Winson Salem, N.C., native followed it up with another 12 kills and two blocks vs. Northwestern.
• Through four conference matches, Elliott is averaging 4.43 kills (2nd in Big Ten) per set on .297 hitting. Elliott has 10 service aces in four Big Ten matches and leads the conference (0.7 aces per set).

• The Terps have proven one of the best in the Big Ten in serving, posting 1.54 service aces per set. Maryland leads the conference in service aces.
• Freshman setter Abigail Bentz has a powerful jump serve and leads the team with 0.31 aces per set. Bentz is seventh in the Big Ten in the category. Senior libero Amy Dion ranks ninth in the conference with 0.29 aces per set.
• Senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott leads the Big Ten in conference aces per set, averaging 0.7 through two weekends.

• Maryland has the third most difficult upcoming schedule in the nation as the continues Big Ten play.
• The Terps' conference opponents posted a 114-31 record in nonconference play, good for a .786 win percentage.
•The Big Ten features 10 programs either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The conference has three top-10 teams, including No. 1 Penn State, No. 4 Nebraska and No. 7 Illinois.

• The Terps reached 10 wins at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, matching the team's 2014 win total.
• Maryland began the 2015 season with nine straight wins, marking the team's best start to a season since 2005.
