
#1 Terps Take On Towson Wednesday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team (5-0) takes a short trip to Towson (2-0) Wednesday. Opening draw is scheduled for 7 p.m.
- The Terrapins-Tigers game will be streamed for free through Towson Sports Network.

- The Terps are averaging 13.20 goals per game while limiting opponents to 7.20 goals per game. Maryland has allowed more than 10 goals once this season (11 vs. North Carolina).
- Junior Taylor Cummings leads the Terrapins with 19 goals, 24 points, eight ground balls, 32 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers.
- Graduate goalkeeper Alex Fitzpatrick has started all five games and holds a 7.24 goals-against average and .471 save percentage.
- The Terps are currently on a 15-game win streak - the longest currently in Division I - and have not lost since April 5, 2014.

cummings named b1g offensive player of the week
- Junior midfielder Taylor Cummings was selected as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Monday.
- In two wins last week, Cummings scored 10 goals and recorded 16 draw controls and four caused turnovers.
newcomers make immediate impact
- Freshmen Megan Whittle and Taylor Hensh and senior transfer Alex Fitzpatrick have made immediate contributions to the top-ranked Terps.
- Whittle has scored 12 goals in five games, good for second on the team. She tallied hat tricks against North Carolina, Hofstra and UMBC. Whittle came to Maryland as the top-ranked player in the class of 2015.
- Hensh has seen time in all five games as a reserve attacker, and broke out with a hat trick against Lehigh.
- Fitzpatrick, a three-year starter at Lehigh, has started all five games for the Terps. She currently holds a 7.24 goals-against average and a .471 save percentage.

- The Terps are among the nation's best at controlling draws. The team tops the Big Ten and rank 17th nationally with 14.00 draw controls per game.
- Junior Taylor Cummings leads the conference and is sixth in the nation with 6.40 draw controls per game.

five terrapins named to tewaaraton watch list
- Taylor Cummings, Megan Douty, Brooke Griffin, Kelly McPartland and Alice Mercer were named to the 2015 Tewaaraton Watch List in February.
- The five Terps were the most players from any program named to the 50-player watch list.
- All five players were named Inside Lacrosse preseason All-Americans.
- Cummings is the reigning Tewaaraton Award winner, while Douty was a finalist last season.
