Fitzpatrick Named B1G Defensive Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Redshirt senior goalkeeper Alex Fitzpatrick was tabbed as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Fitzpatrick made her third straight start as the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team (3-0) dominated Hofstra, 14-6, last Saturday. The Yorktown, N.Y., native made a season-high seven saves in 53 minutes of playing time while allowing four goals.
The goalie is currently second in the Big Ten and 30th nationally with a 7.53 goals-against average. She also has a .438 save percentage.
The Terps host in-state rival UMBC Wednesday, with opening draw scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on BTN Plus.
