
GymTerps Heading To Auburn For NCAA Regionals

COLLEGE PARK, Md.— The Maryland gymnastics team earned a bid to the Auburn NCAA Regional the association announced Monday. The GymTerps will head south for its seventh consecutive NCAA Regional appearance and 21st all-time showing.
The Terps will face #5 Alabama, #8 Auburn, #17 Minnesota, #23 Iowa and George Washington in the meet hosted by Auburn University on April 4th.
“It's very exciting to be selected to the Auburn regional this season,” head coach Brett Nelligan said. “This location will showcase some fantastic gymnastics and we are looking forward to competing in a few weeks.”
This past weekend, the team scored a season-high team total (196.075) en route to a seventh place finish in the Big Ten Championships. Karen Tang was named to the All-Big Ten Championship team and tied for fifth on bars (9.900). Additionally, Abbie Epperson tied for fifth on vault (9.900), setting a personal-best.
The Terrapins ended the regular season ranked 30th nationally, with a 195.505 regional qualifying score.
Last season, Maryland earned a bid to the University Park NCAA Regional. They racked a 194.525 and finished sixth.
