CHICAGO - The accolades continue to roll in for Maryland senior Juliet Vongphoumy as she was named First Team All-Big Ten for women's golf, the league announced Tuesday.
The news comes shortly after learning of her qualification to the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, which will take place in Raleigh, N.C., from May 7-9. The Providence, R.I., native, was also awarded the conference's sportsmanship award.
Vongphoumy won the Mary Fossum Award as the conference player with the lowest stroke average relative to par this season and she tied for second at the Big Ten Women's Golf Championship last weekend at the Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis.
Vongphoumy was a two-time All-ACC honoree (2012, 2014) prior to landing All-Big Ten honors this season. She is the first Terp to qualify for the postseason since Maryland punched its ticket to the NCAA Regionals as a team in 2012.
