Diggs Drafted by Minnesota Vikings

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Former University of Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs was selected Saturday by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round (146 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

In three seasons in College Park, Diggs amassed 150 receptions for 2,227 yards and 14 touchdowns while earning all-conference honors in both the Big Ten and ACC. Diggs' 150 career receptions rank fourth in school history and his 2,227 receiving yards rank second. Diggs also finished ranked third in school history with 4,106 career all-purpose yards.

During his junior season Diggs earned second team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches and honorable mention All-Big Ten honors by the media while leading the team in receptions (52), receiving yards (654) and receiving touchdowns (5). Diggs totaled over 100 receiving yards on four occasions (vs. West Virginia, at Indiana, vs. Iowa and at Stanford), a total which ranked third in the Big Ten. He also set school bowl records by catching 10 passes for 138 yards in the Foster Farms Bowl against Stanford.

The Gaithersburg, Md. native made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2012 finishing the season ranked second in the ACC and eighth nationally with 172.4 all-purpose yards per game. His 1,896 all-purpose yards were the second most in a single season in school history. He also ranked second in the ACC in kick return average (28.5) and  fifth in punt return average (10.0) and led the team in receptions (54), receiving yards (848), and touchdown receptions (6).
