Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer

The Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the day-to-day sports medicine/athletic training operations for men's soccer and other assigned teams, to include prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes; pre-participation physicals; inventory management of supplies and equipment; maintaining medical records; completing required insurance claims; daily interaction and communication with coaching staff, fellow athletic trainers, and administration; attending team practices and events; supervising assistant athletic trainers and student athletic trainers; oversee the day-to-day operation of the Varsity Team House Athletic Training Facility; serve as the clinical mentor to the Athletic Training staff; manage functional movement assessments, corrective exercises, and injury prevention programming for men's soccer and assist the Director of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Services with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field/concentration and three years of experience as a certified athletic trainer providing health care for intercollegiate and/or professional athletes required. Must have the ability to recognize, evaluate, and care for athletic injuries and illnesses. Must be available to work a flexible work schedule to include some evenings, weekends and holidays. Master's degree and at least three (3) years of athletic training experience providing health care services for elite and/or major league soccer athletes preferred. Experience with assessment and interpretation of relevant preventive screening and recovery practices for soccer athletes preferred. Strong communication, organizational, administrative, and teamwork skills; advanced training in student-athlete movement assessment strategies, corrective exercise design, and/or manual therapy applications; and documented supervisory experience of other athletic trainers and students preferred. Must have current Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer and CPR/AED Certification from an accredited organization; currently possess and/or eligible for State of Maryland Athletic Training License; and possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
