
Terps Open 2015 Campaign at Home

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's soccer team opens its 2015 season with a pair of home matches at Ludwig Field this weekend. The Terps will take on Kent State Friday at 7 p.m., before facing Navy on Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
• The Navy match will be streamed on BTN2Go.com and the BTN2Go app via BTN Plus, which will require an additional subscription. Fans can access all Big Ten content on BTN Plus for $119.95 per year or a $14.95 monthly subscription. A Maryland School Pass for BTN Plus, which includes all Terrapin contests, home and away, on BTN Plus for $79.95 per year or for a $9.95 monthly subscription.

• Friday night's match against Kent State will be Camper Reunion Night. All campers who attaned the Women's Soccer Camp get in free.

• Maryland has a 17-9-2 lifetime record in season openers dating back to the 1987 season. The Terps hold a 9-0-1 record against Navy all-time, including two wins and a draw under current head coach Jonathan Morgan. Maryland's only meeting with Kent State came in 2007, a 1-1 draw.
• The Terrapins finished the 2014 season with a 5-7-6 record including three Big Ten victories. Maryland played a total of eight overtime contests.
• Maryland goalkeeper Rachelle Beanlands held a goals against average of 0.86 in 2014, the sixth best mark in Maryland history. Beanlands' 59 starts ranks fourth among goalkeepers in Maryland history and she is seven starts away from the all-time record.
• Beanlands' career GAA of 1.14 is the fourth best in school history.
• After six assists last season, senior Shannon Collins sits with 14 career assists which slots her t-16 in Maryland history.
• Maryland features six players (Beanlands, Collins, Barger, Fichtner, Gerlitz, Molina) that started all 18 contests last season.
• The Terrapins saw a total of 11 players notch goals last season. Seven of those players return.
• Maryland won both of its non-conference home contests last season. The Terps are 8-1-0 at home against non-conference foes under Jonathan Morgan.
Six Named to Leadership Group
• Head coach Jonathan Morgan announced his six-member leadership group for the 2015 season on Aug. 4.
• Seniors Sarah Fichtner, Shannon Collins, Erika Nelson, Rachelle Beanlands, Riley Barger and sophomore Alex Anthony make up the unit.
