COLLEGE PARK, Md. – In conjunction with the University of Maryland Alumni Association, the Maryland volleyball team hosted its first annual golf outing Friday morning.
More than 50 golfers joined the Terps at the University of Maryland Golf Course to support the alumni association and team and kick off the 2015 volleyball season.
“This was a wonderful way to start the season,” head coach Steve Aird said. “It's always great to connect with Maryland alumni, and it's a great opportunity to share our goals for the future with them.”
Participants joined the volleyball team for breakfast and lunch at the golf course with an 8 a.m. tee time.
The Terps compete in the annual Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the XFINITY Center Pavilion. Fans can meet the team and coaches over hor d'oeuvres and drinks before the intrasquad match at 5:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall.
Maryland opens the 2015 season Friday, Aug. 28, as the Terps host the Maryland Invite.
