For Openers: Maryland fell to 1-1 on the season, while Bowling Green improved to 1-1. It was the inaugural meeting between the schools.
Likely Strikes Again: After setting a Big Ten record with 233 punt return yards in week one against Richmond, William Likely struck again with an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown. It was tied for the second-longest punt return in Maryland history. It was also Likely's second punt return for touchdown of the season and fourth of his career.
Ngakoue in the Backfield: Junior defensive end Yannick Ngakoue recorded a career-high 3.0 sacks in the game, becoming the first Terrapin to notch 3.0 sacks in a game since Andre Monroe had 3.0 sacks at Virginia Tech on Nov. 16, 2013.
Protecting the QB: The Terrapin offensive line has not allowed a sack through two games this season.
Carter Sets Career-High: Sophomore linebacker Jermaine Carter, Jr. posted a career-high 13 tackles, including nine solo stops. Sean Davis had a team season-high 14 stops.
Moore Finds Paydirt: Freshman wide receiver D.J. Moore scored his first career touchdown, catching a 42-yard pass from Perry Hills in the third quarter.
Picked Off: Sophomore Jalen Brooks collected his first career interception and returned it seven yards. It was the first interception of the season for Maryland.
For Starters: Sophomore defensive end Jesse Aniebonam made his first career collegiate start, while junior wide receiver Malcolm Culmer started his first game since 2013.
Weather Delay: Due to lighting in the area, the game was suspended for 55 minutes during the halftime break.
