HANAHAN, S.C. - The Maryland women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the season Tuesday as it concluded play at the Cougar Classic.
The Terps finished 19th with a three-round tally of 941. Panitta Yusabai led the Terps with a 229 (75-79-75) to tie for 64th.
Freshman Ludovica Farina followed Yusabai with a 237 (78-80-79) which landed the rookie in a tie for 89th place. Junior Heidi Baek also posted a 237 (76-80-81).
Ludovica Scandroglio shot a 241 (79-80-82) and Brooke Kochevar posted a 243 (81-83-79) for the Terps.
Taylor Tomlinson of Florida and Alice Hewson of Clemson were co-individual medalists of the 2015 Powerade Cougar Classic shooting 6-under par (210) for the tournament. Preseason No. 4-ranked Arkansas became the second school in the 13-year history of the tournament to win back-to-back team titles with a 7-under 857 next to Florida in 2012 and 2013.
Maryland returns to action when it travels to Knoxville, Tenn., for the Mercedez-Benz Intercollegiate on Sept. 20.
