COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Each week during the 2015-16 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is Anna Dessoye of field hockey.
Dessoye led the Terrapins with three goals and an assist in their two victories this weekend. Against No. 12 Northwestern, she tied the game for Maryland with a goal off a penalty corner in the 33rd minute. In the second half, she found freshman Linnea Gonzales for the go-ahead score in the 44th minute, then scored herself 48 seconds later for a two-goal lead.
Against New Hampshire, Dessoye scored Maryland's fourth goal when she flipped in a rebounded shot with 3:03 left before halftime. She leads the Terrapins in points with 16 points off of five goals and six assists so far this season.
Dessoye was also voted Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year and third time in her career.
