
Terps Travel to Indiana, #18 Purdue

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team (10-6, 0-2 B1G) competes in its first conference road matches at Indiana (10-4, 0-2) and #18 Purdue Friday and Saturday.
• The Terps face the Hoosiers Friday at 7 p.m. in Bloomington, Ind., at the University Gym.
• Maryland takes on No. 18 Purdue Saturday at 7 p.m. in West Lafayette, Ind., at the Holloway Gymnasium.
• Both matches will be live streamed on BTN Plus. Live stats will be available for each match, and updates will be given on the Maryland volleyball Twitter feed.
Scouting the Indiana hoosiers
• The Hoosiers (10-4, 0-2) fell to then-No. 22 Michigan and Michigan State to open Big Ten play last weekend.
• Amelia Anderson leads Indiana and ranks fifth in the conference with 3.91 kills per set. Megan Tallman leads the Hoosiers with 9.57 assists per set while Courtney Hamish paces the team with 3.18 digs pers set.
• The Hoosiers are second in the Big Ten in service aces (1.48/set). Five Hoosiers have 10 or more aces, including 14 for Taylor Lebo and Megan Tallman.
• The Terps are 2-2 all-time vs. Indiana. Maryland fell in four sets to the Hoosiers last season in XFINITY.
Scouting the purdue boilermakers
• The 18th-ranked Boilermakers (11-2, 2-0) defeated No. 22 Michigan and Michigan State last weekend.
• Annie Drews, a preseason All-Big Ten selection, leads the Boilermakers with 4.23 kills per set, which is good for third in the conference. Ashley Evans leads the team with 11.25 assists per set and Amanda Neill is averaging 4.09 digs per set.
• The Boilermakers lead the conference in service aces (1.55/set) and rank third in kills (14.34/set).
• Maryland is 0-2 against Purdue in program history. Both meetings came last season as new conference foes.
terps set xfinity center pavilion attendance record
• Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion attendance record with 1,752 fans as the Terps fell to No. 9 Illinois last Friday.
• The previous attendance record was set on Sept. 16, 2006. The new attendance record ranks fourth in Maryland history.
• Since Steve Aird became head coach prior to the 2014 season, the Terps have set five of the top-10 attendance records in program history.
elliott leads maryland in b1g play
• Despite going 0-2 to start Big Ten play last weekend, senior outside hitter Adreené Elliott posted two strong performances in the first week of conference play.
• Against No.9 Illinois, Elliott posted 12 kills and set a new career record with three service aces. The Winson Salem, N.C., native followed it up with another 12 kills and two blocks vs. Northwestern.
• Through two matches, Elliott is averaging 4.00 kills per set on .281 hitting.

• The Terps have proven one of the best in the Big Ten in serving, posting 1.37 service aces per set. Maryland ranks third in the conference in service aces.
• Freshman setter Abigail Bentz has a powerful jump serve and leads the team with 0.32 aces per set. Bentz is seventh in the Big Ten in the category. Senior libero Amy Dion ranks 11th in the conference with 0.30 aces per set.
• This weekend features the top three serving teams in the conference. Purdue tops the Big Ten with 1.55 service aces per set while Indiana is second with 1.48 aces per set.

• Maryland has the third most difficult upcoming schedule in the nation as the continues Big Ten play.
• The Terps' conference opponents posted a 114-31 record in nonconference play, good for a .786 win percentage.
•The Big Ten features 10 programs either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The conference has three top-10 teams, including No. 1 Penn State, No. 4 Nebraska and No. 7 Illinois.

• The Terps reached 10 wins at the Kristen Dickmann Invitational, matching the team's 2014 win total.
• Maryland began the 2015 season with nine straight wins, marking the team's best start to a season since 2005.
• The Terps opened the season with three straight-set wins for the first time since 1997.
