COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Head coach Diana Cantu and the Maryland women's golf program announced the 2015-16 schedule on Friday. The slate includes four fall dates and five tournaments in the spring prior to Big Ten and NCAA Tournament action beginning in late April.

“I'm excited to announce our 2015-2016 schedule,” Cantu said. “We have a strong schedule this season and I can't wait to watch the team succeed in this year's journey. We'll be facing demanding fields at great golf courses with strong hosts in both our fall and spring seasons.”

Maryland kicks off the competitive season with a trip to Charleston, S.C., for the Cougar Classic Sept. 12-15 before heading to the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 20-22. Cantu was an All-American golfer at the University of Tennessee.

The Terps make two trips to the Carolinas in October to cap the spring season with jaunts to the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C., Oct. 11-13 and Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C., Oct. 24-27.

Maryland begins the spring campaign with a journey to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the Lady Puerto Rick Classic Feb. 13-16 before returning stateside for the 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate in Augusta, Ga., March 10-13. The Terps head to the Briar's Creek Invitational in John's Island, S.C., on March 20-22.

The Terps boast a season-high three tournaments in the month of April with trips to the Web.com Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla., April 3-5, the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus, Ohio April 15-17, and the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis April 21-24.

“We've added a mix of challenging but fun events that will test our golf games,” Cantu said. “I'm eager to take the team to the Mercedes Benz Championship this fall, played at my alma mater, and show them a piece of my life story as well as heading to the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in the spring to enjoy a different culture and experience.”

NCAA Regional Championship play begins May 4 while the NCAA Championship commences May 19-25 in Eugene, Ore.
