KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Maryland women's soccer team earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award, the organization announced.
The award is given for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2015-16 academic year. To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing the number of players.
Maryland was one of 578 women's teams across all levels given the award. The Terps boasted 14 Academic All-Big Ten selections last season.
Maryland continues its season Sunday afternoon against Indiana with action scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from Ludwig Field.
