Gouterman Earns Big Ten Honor

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland senior Hope Gouterman was named a women's soccer Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree, the conference announced Friday afternoon.
Gouterman started all 19 games between midfield and defense and was one of Maryland's top performers throughout the season. The Olney, Md., native has been named to the all-academic Big Ten team the past two seasons.
The students chosen for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These students must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
