Throughout the season, umterps.com will introduce the Maryland community to each of its new players. The “Better Know a Terp” series continues with Jenna Surdick.
Season Report: Surdick has played in 10 games with one start, notching two shots in 238 minutes.
Before Maryland: Started 13 game last season as a freshman at Coastal Carolina and scored one goal with an assist. Starred at nearby Arundel High School and was named first team all-state and Capital Gazette Player of the Year as a senior for the Wildcats. She was a three-time Baltimore Sun and Washington Post All-Metro selection. Helped PSC Baltimore win five straight Maryland state championships.

Jenna Surdick: When I was four years old.
umterps.com: How did you get into it?
Jenna Surdick: All my friends and I played clinic soccer when we were younger and my dad coached. My brothers went off and played different sports but I always stuck with soccer.
umterps.com: Who is your favorite soccer player?
Jenna Surdick: Kelley O'Hara
umterps.com: What has been your favorite soccer related aspect of coming to College Park?
Jenna Surdick: Just the family part of it. A lot of us were new, but we all just came together and honestly couldn't be closer.
umterps.com: What's your favorite thing about College Park?
Jenna Surdick: Definitely not the hills! The campus atmosphere is great.
umterps.com: What is your favorite hobby?
Jenna Surdick: Baking stuff.
umterps.com: You are from Maryland, what is it like playing for your hometown school?
Jenna Surdick: I love it! I grew up here and this is my dream school. I always saw the women's soccer team and they were so good and I never imagined being able to play here.
umterps.com: What is your favorite place to eat in College Park?
Jenna Surdick: Bagel Place.

Jenna Surdick: I love country music.

Jenna Surdick: Grey's Anatomy.

Jenna Surdick: Messing around with everybody. Just shooting and stuff. That's so fun.
