Terps Compete in Junior World Cup

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Current Terrapins Carrie Hanks and Linnea Gonzales, as well as incoming Terp Brooke DeBerdine, are competing with USA Field Hockey at the Junior World Cup in Chile. They will play Argentina in the quarterfinals Wednesday.
Team USA finished 2-1 in pool play in Pool A with Korea, The Netherlands and Zimbabwe. The Americans beat Zimbabwe, 10-0, and Gonzales scored the 10th goal for the U.S.
Team USA took a 1-0 lead early vs. The Netherlands, but fell 5-1. They went on to beat Korea, 3-2 in the final match of pool play.
Quarterfinals begin Wednesday and the Americans will play Argentina at 3:45 p.m. ET.
