COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland football program announced Wednesday it has agreed to a four-game series with former Atlantic Coast Conference foe Virginia Tech from 2026 to 2029.
The Terps will host Virginia Tech in the opening game of the series on Sept. 19, 2026, before traveling to Blacksburg the following season for a matchup on Sept. 18, 2027. The Hokies will then return to College Park for a date on Sept. 16, 2028, prior to the final game of the series in Blacksburg on Sept. 15, 2029.
Maryland and Virginia Tech have played each other 31 times in history, with the Terps holding a narrow 16-15 edge due to their thrilling overtime victory in Blacksburg in 2013. The schools met 18 consecutive seasons between the series' inception in 1919 and 1936.
