COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland gymnastics team competes in its third meet in eight days as the Terps host Penn State Monday at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Maryland gymnastics team posted a season-high 49.075 on floor as the Terps battled with No. 11 Arkansas on Friday night. The Terrapins posted a 194.425.
• Maryland highlighted the evening with floor in the final rotation. Three Terps tied their personal best scores, including Megan McClelland, Emily Brauckmuller and Kathy Tang. Leah Slobodin started the team off strong with a 9.700 and was followed by McClelland's 9.775. The next four gymnasts earned a 9.800 or higher, including 9.825 from Macey Roberts and a 9.875 from Tang in the anchor spot.
• Epperson won the bars title with a 9.800 and Tang won the floor title. Slobodin placed second on beam (9.825) and Roberts finished second on floor.
scouting the PENN State nittany lions
• Penn State also has a quick turnaround to Monday's event as the Nittany Lions are hosting No 4 Alabama, No. 13 Denver and Cornell Saturday.
• Junior Kiera Brown is averagina a 9.880 on bars while freshman Sabrina Garcia is averaging a 9.835.
• The Nittany Lions scored a season-high 195.925 against Ohio State on Feb. 13. The team has earned a 49.000 or higher in every event except vault this season.
• This is the 17th all-time meeting between the teams, with Penn State holding a 15-1 advantage. Last season, the Nittany Lions defeated the Terps, 196.550-194.450.
freshmen key to terps' success
• All five of Maryland's freshmen have made impacts to the Terps this season.
• Megan McClelland has competed in every meet, entering the rotation bars, beam and floor and has a personal best of 9.850 on bars. Macey Roberts has seen time in the lineup on vault, beam and floor, tallying highs of 9.800 on vault and 9.900 on floor.
• Alex Robinson and Amanda Bertorello have made their way into various events. Shyenne Agaran made her debut against Arkansas, appearing on bars and beam.

Epperson, Tang tabbed by big ten
• Senior Kathy Tang and sophomore Abbie Epperson were named Maryland's Gymnasts to Watch by the Big Ten Conference last month.
• A well-rounded gymnast, Tang competed on all four apparatuses in 2015. Tang placed 19th on vault at the 2015 Big Ten Championships and tied for 16th on floor at the NCAA Regionals.
• A freshman standout last season, Epperson competed on vault and bars in every meet in 2015. Epperson tied for fifth on vault at the Big Ten Championships and 12th on bars at the NCAA Regionals and was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week on Feb. 2, 2015.
• Defending conference champion Michigan was named the favorite in the Big Ten Preseason Coaches' Poll.
terps announce 2016 schedule
• After posting the team's highest NCAA finish in 14 years last season, the Maryland gymnastics team once again faces a challenging schedule in 2016.
• Six of Maryland's opponents finished the 2015 season ranked by GymInfo, including No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Nebraska, No. 13 Penn State, No. 14 Illinois, No. 17 Minnesota, No. 19 Arkansas, T-No. 23 Iowa and No. 25 New Hampshire.

maryland posts highest ncaa finish since 2001
• The Terps finished the 2015 season on a high note as Maryland finished third at the NCAA Auburn Regional, the program's highest finish since 2001 with a 195.150.
•Maryland posted a 48.950 team score on vault and hit 23 of 24 routines. The Terps did not count a fall at the regional.
