Are you still involved in volleyball? Somewhat recreationally. Took a break while I was pregnant and am getting back into it this summer
What was your least favorite drill in practice? Pretty much anything that involved back row defense!
What was your go-to spot on campus? The View - a few of us lived next door to one another. Chipotle was a favorite off-campus indulgence!
Were you involved in extracurricular activities outside of volleyball? I was in the Sports Management Fellowship through the business school and I did a few internships during the summer months.
If you could give advice to your college self, what would you say? Try not to overanalyze things - just go with it! Also, listen to what your body is telling you because volleyball injuries are no joke.
Are there any players with whom you keep contact? YES! Maggie Glacken, Mary Beth Brown, Beth Kamen, Teryn Zmuda, Kathleen Wilson, Brittney Rose, Michelle Kenning...so many!
Teammates who you lived with in college? Kathleen Wilson, Maggie Glacken, Tedi Doucet
Did you have any game day rituals? No, just training room treatment.
Why did you choose Maryland? The coaches and the girls sealed the deal for me. It felt like home!
Favorite thing to do on an off day? Nap :) and hang out with my teammates.
What was the funniest story from your time at Maryland?: Freshman year we were doing a blocking drill and somehow each time I went up to the net I managed to get a ball right in my face! Coach Felix [Hou] had to stop the drill because my teammates (several of whom were on the ground) and I couldn't stop laughing. That and the time Felix dyed his hair purple by mistake.
Best post game "snack": Chick-fil-A sponsored one of the tournaments we played in and sent us home with a giant box of Chick-fil-A sandwiches. My first NCAA "experience": During my redshirt year, we went to the NCAA tournament. Teryn Papp had to borrow my jersey because hers was nowhere to be found. Who knew that UMD #2 Middle Blocker Meredith Doyle was a setter too?
