Terps Set for Briar?s Creek Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland women's golf team will step out on the course once again Monday as they are set to participate in the 2016 Briar's Creek Invitational.
The Briar's Creek Invitational will take place in Johns Island, S.C. at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek on Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21. There will be 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and then a final round of 18 holes starting on Tuesday morning. The Golf Club at Briar's Creek is a par-72, 6036 yard course.
Eight teams that are listed in GOLFSTAT's top 50 ranking will participate in the Briar's Creek Invitational. They include Florida (#8), Kent St. (#12), Florida St. (#20), Texas Tech (#26), Michigan St. (#30), Louisville (#36), East Carolina (#37) and Clemson (#47).
Boston College, Campbell, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Indiana, Long Beach St., Penn St., Virginia Tech and Wisconsin are also slated to compete in the tournament.
Last weekend, the Terps saw freshman Ludovica Scandroglio break out, finishing the 3M Augusta Invite with team-low scores of a 73 and 74 in the first and third rounds, respectively. The freshman will look to continue her strong play on Monday and Tuesday.
