
Seven Terps Named to NFHCA Academic Squad

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Seven members of the Maryland field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's National Academic Squad Tuesday. As a team, the Terrapins were named a National Academic Team for their performance in the classroom.
Brooke Adler, Marissa Cutry, Julie Duncan, Carrie Hanks, Delaney Leathers, Welma Luus and Sarah Sprink were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.
This is the third honor for Leathers, second for Adler, Luus and Sprink, and first honor for Cutry, Duncan, Hanks.
Adler, Cutry, Hanks, Leathers, Luus and Sprink were named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team earlier this year.
As a team, the Terps posted a GPA above 3.0 to be named a National Academic Team by the NFHCA.
Maryland went 19-4 this season, winning the program's second straight Big Ten regular season title and the Big Ten Tournament title.
