
Terps Ready for NCAA Regionals

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Members of the Maryland gymnastics team will travel to Athens, Ga., to compete in the 2016 NCAA Regionals Saturday at 4 p.m.
Senior Kathy Tang will compete on vault and floor while sophomore Abbie Epperson was selected to compete on bars. Freshman Macey Roberts earned a bid to compete on floor.
Tang and Epperson will compete in the first group of individual event specialists while Roberts will compete with group two.
The meet will be live streamed through SEC Network+, which is available to customers of cable providers that offer WatchESPN.
Tang has been a standout in both events this season, tying a personal best on vault with a 9.900 and earning a personal-best 9.875 on floor three times. Tang has earned a 9.800 or higher on vault in eight meets this season. She has earned a 9.800 or higher on floor in the last eight meets.
Epperson has been a consistent performer on bars this season. She never posted beneath a 9.725 in 2016 and has scored a 9.800 or higher in the last six meets.
In her first collegiate season, Roberts has shined on floor for the Terps. She earned a 9.900 in just her third collegiate meet vs Iowa. Roberts has earned under a 9.725 just once, in her first-ever meet. She has earned a 9.800 or higher in eight meets, including the last seven.
Junior Emily Brauckmuller (floor), sophomore Dominiquea Trotter (vault) and sophomore Dominiquea Trotter (vault) were selected as alternates for the regional. Tang was also named as an alternate on bars.
Teams competing at the Athens Regional include host Georgia, LSU, Oregon State, Arizona, George Washington and Michigan State.
