Every week leading up to Maryland volleyball's Alumni Banquet on April 16, we'll spotlight on a Terp alumni! This week, we're featuring Mary Cushman, a 6-0 outside hitter and 2014 graduate!
Cushman sits at fifth in the Maryland record books in career kills with 1,344. She was a four-year started and a four-time Academic All-ACC member.

Meredith Muldoon '09
Grad Year: 2014
Area of Study: Family Science
Where do you live now? Rochester, New York
Current Occupation: I am in my last semester of my Masters in Social Work. Right now I work in a Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Clinic.
Position on the court: Outside
Most memorable game: Beating Duke in 5 at home my junior year. It was Senior Night and Duke was always a top team in the conference so it was a pretty awesome team win.
Are you still involved in volleyball? Yes, I am the assistant coach at a Divison III school (Nazareth College) and I am the assistant coach for the club VolleyFX 17-1s, which is the club I played for
What was your go-to spot on campus? The quad
Were you involved in extra-curricular activities outside of volleyball? I was a part of SAAC and did work with Alternative Spring Break
If you could give advice to your college self, what would you say? Don't be afraid to take risks and step outside of your comfort zone.
Are there any players with whom you keep contact? Yes, I keep in touch with a lot of players but especially those in my class (Sarah Harper and Carlisle Abele), Remy McBain who was a year above me and some of the seniors on the team now.

Did you have a favorite warm-up song to get you pumped to play? Anything country :)
Why did you choose Maryland? I fell in love with the campus and the atmosphere the moment I drove by campus on my first visit. The campus is beautiful, the surrounding area has a lot to offer (Annapolis, DC, Baltimore), and I really enjoyed the coaching staff and players.
Favorite thing to do on an off day? Listen to country music and relax or spend time with my roommates
