COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Members of the Maryland field hockey family hosted a Chase the Dream fundraising event Friday night to support USA Field Hockey and the U.S. Women's National Team's upcoming trip to the Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
Current and former members of the Terrapins' staff, team and supporters gathered at the University of Maryland Golf Course for a "Maryland Made" themed event, complete with steamed crabs, shrimp and other seafood.
Former Terrapins and Olympic hopefuls Ali McEvoy Campbell, Katie O'Donnell Bam and Jill Witmer came to celebrate with the Maryland community.
"A really special Maryland evening to celebrate Katie, Ali and Jill and have their families back in College Park with former Terps Steve Jennings, Keli Smith Puzo, Dina Rizzo and Lauren Powley, just to name a few," Maryland head coach Missy Meharg said. "It was so special to have the history and the tradition of Maryland field hockey together. We just want to thank the Langford family for their seafood, STX, Reiter Interior and of course, the University of Maryland for the support."
"The Maryland field hockey family is so special," Bam said. "Tonight is just so fun to see everyone. We are so grateful for all of the generosity and can't thank everyone enough for the support."
