COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland has made an immediate impression in the Big Ten Conference in its first two years, capturing a conference-high 16 regular season and tournament titles over that span.
In its inaugural year (2014-15), Maryland won seven regular season and conference titles and has added nine more so far in the 2015-16 season.
Most recently, Maryland's men's and women's lacrosse program won both their regular season and tournament championships. In addition, the women's basketball completed its second straight sweep, winning both the regular season and championship titles in its first two years of Big Ten competition.
Maryland has earned five coach of the year honors (Missy Meharg, field hockey - twice, Brenda Frese, women's basketball, Mark Turgeon, men's basketball and Cathy Reese, women's lacrosse).
