COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland Concessions General Manager Chuck Aldridge was honored with the 2016 Ron Athey Award at the 2016 National Association of Collegiate Concessionaires National Conference earlier this month.
The Athey award is the NACC's highest award for lifetime achievement in the College Concessions industry.
The NACC is the only association dedicated completely to advancing the college and university concessions industry. The organization includes members from all Power 5 Conferences across the county, as well as from small and mid-size institutions.
Aldridge started working for Maryland concessions in 1989 as a general assistant, before working his way up to General Manager. He also spent time in catering and resident dining, while studying for and achieving his Certified Concessions Manager (CCM) and National Restaurant Association Food Management Professional (FMP) status.
These experiences provided him with the food service depth to lead one of the most exciting and diverse concessions programs in the country as he continues his tenure at Maryland.
