Former Terps Help USA to Bronze

LONDON - Former Terrapins Katie (O'Donnell) Bam and Jill Witmer helped the U.S. National Team to the bronze medal in the Champions Trophy at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London this weekend. The Champions Trophy features seven of the top six teams in the world.

In Sunday's bronze medal match, the seventh-ranekd U.S. squad trailed 2-0 at the half to No. 3 Australia. Bam put the Americans on the board with a score in the 42nd minute to put the USA within one.

Fifteen minutes later, Bam struck once again with a diving score to knot the score at 2-2 with 23 minutes to play.

The match went to a shootout, with the U.S. winning 1-0 to bring home the bronze. For photos and more on Team USA's victory, click here.
