The Social Media and Design-Football will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics staff and be under the direct supervision of the Director of Football Operations. This position will be responsible for bringing the vision of the Maryland football program to life through innovative graphics utilized in recruiting and social media distribution. This individual will be responsible for delivering recruiting-specific graphics and work directly with the Maryland football coaching staff and recruiting department. This individual, along with the recruiting department, would create and execute a weekly, monthly, and yearly graphic/social media plan of distribution to support the head coach's vision of the Maryland football program. This plan would be used to engage University of Maryland football prospects through all NCAA compliant forms of digital and social media. While creating the graphic designs that are distributed; this individual would also assist in managing all coaches' (Head Coach/Assistants) social media accounts. This individual would work in conjunction with ICA digital marketing and creative services to ensure that graphics that are produced, that are not related to recruiting, adhere to current departmental branding standards.
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising or equivalent years experience and/or education. One (1) year of social media and digital asset management experience including thorough understanding and attention to detail with digital content development and managing social media sites-including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required with Adobe creative suite (particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat) and video editing (iMovie or FinalCutPro) skills preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.
