Murray Travels to Croatia for Global Challenge

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Rising junior middle blocker Hailey Murray was selected to travel to Pula, Croatia, to compete in the 12th annual Global Challenge volleyball tournament.

Murray will compete on Team BIP with other university volleyball student-athletes. After four days of pre-tour practices, opening ceremonies for the tournament will take place on July 10. A total of 13 teams will compete in the tournament, including the U.S. Collegiate National team, and the Hungarian, Russian, Croatian, English and Chinese U22 teams.

The challenge will take place from July 11-14 in Pula. Murray will begin competition against the China U22 team on July 11. Live scoring will be provided on the challenge's Twitter account (@12thGC). Most of the matches will be live streamed through bringitusa.com/gc2016. The opening ceremonies will be streamed here.

This is Murray's second trip to Europe to compete in volleyball. Last summer, Murray participated in the first-ever Big Ten volleyball foreign tour, competing in Slovenia, Croatia and Italy with fellow conference student-athletes. Murray has started in every match since arriving to College Park. Last season, she ranked second on the team with 0.80 blocks per set.
