ROSEMOUNT, Ill. – Maryland women's soccer forward Jarena Harmon was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Harmon scored four times in Maryland's wins against William & Mary and Penn this weekend. The Washington D.C. native scored all three of the Terrapins goals in a 3-2 victory over the Tribe, notching the first Maryland hat trick since 2013.
The sophomore sealed a 3-1 victory over Penn on Sunday with a goal in the 70th minute that came just a minute after Penn cut the Maryland lead to 2-1. Harmon leads the Big Ten in goals with four.
Harmon is the first-ever Maryland Big Ten women's soccer weekly award winner.
Maryland returns to action Friday afternoon against Pepperdine at Ludwig Field. Action is scheduled to kickoff at 4 p.m. and the match can be seen live on BTN Plus.
