COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team hits the road for the first time this season as the Terps travel to the Kansas Invitational. The Terrapins will face Arkansas, No. 4 Kansas and Chicago State.
• The Terps will face the Razorbacks (0-3) on Friday at 11 a.m. before taking on the Jayhawks (3-0) at 8 p.m. Maryland faces the Cougars (0-3) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
• The Terrapins' match against Arkansas will be broadcast through Cox Sports Television while the Maryland-Kansas match will be streamed on ESPN3.

• The Terrapins started the season 3-0 and captured the Maryland Invite title last weekend.
• Maryland defeated Eastern Michigan, Delaware State and Sacred Heart in straight sets.
• Senior Ashlyn MacGregor (2.33 blocks/set), sophomore Kelsey Wicinski (4.44 digs/set) and freshman Gia Milana (3.78 kills/set) were named to the all-tournament team while Wicinski was selected as MVP.
• Against Sacred Heart, the Terps posted 18.5 total blocks.
macgregor named b1g defensive player of the week
• Senior middle blocker Ashlyn MacGregor was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
• MacGregor made a career-high 14 blocks in the team's win over Sacred Heart. Through three matches, she is averaging 2.33 blocks per set.
• The Tarpon Springs, Fla., native is Maryland's first-ever Defensive Player of the Week honoree in the Big Ten.
Scouting the kansas jayhawks
• The fourth-ranked Jayhawks started the season with three straight-set wins over Mississippi State, Eastern Washington and Lamar in the Bulldog Invitational.
• Through three matches, junior first team All-American Kelsie Payne leads Kansas with 3.33 kills per set, 0.44 aces per set, 2.00 digs per set and 1.11 blocks per set. The Jayhawks also feature first team All-American Ainise Havili at setter and PrepVolleyball All-American Cassie Wait at libero.
• Kansas reached the Final Four in 2015.
• This is the first meeting between the Terps and Jayhawks.
Scouting the arkansas razorbacks
• The Razorbacks started the season 0-3 with losses to No. 14 Illinois, Missouri State and Xavier.
• Danielle Harbin paces Arkansas' offense with 2.70 kills per set while Rachel Rippee is averaging 0.50 aces per set. Three Razorbacks are averaging 2.10 or more digs per set.
• Arkansas is led by first-year head coach Jason Watson.
• This is the first meeting between the Terps and Razorbacks.
Scouting the chicago state cougars
• The Cougars began the 2016 season with losses to Memphis, Belmont and Central Arkansas.
• Four Cougars are averaging more than 2.00 kills per set, led by Juma Armando (2.40/s). Kiana Chaney is averaging 4.00 digs per set.
• This is the second all-time meeting between Maryland and Chicago State. The Terps defeated the Cougars in 2006.

• The Terps were the best in the Big Ten at serving last season, posting 1.44 service aces per set. Maryland has continued where they left off, totaling 2.44 aces per set in the opening weekend.
• Sophomore Kelsey Wicinski is averaging 0.56 aces per set while freshman Gia Milana and senior Ashlyn MacGregor are averaging 0.44 per set.
Terps Rising
• The Maryland volleyball team welcomes the 16th-ranked freshman class in the nation this fall, the first time in program history the Terps have a ranked recruiting class.
• The Terps' freshman class was also selected as an honorable mention recruiting class by Volleyball Magazine, one of just 15 programs recognized in the ranking.
• Outside hitter Gia Milana was ranked as the No. 15 player in her class by PrepVolleyball, the highest ranked recruit in Maryland history. Middle blocker Katie Myers ranked No. 62, and the duo were also named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 list. Milana is Maryland's first-ever Under Armour First Team All-American while Myers was named a Third Team All-American.
• The 2015 Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year outside hitter Megan McTigue joins the Terps, as well as setter Taylor Smith, mentioned in PrepVolleyball's 'The 150'. Defensive specialist Nell Drummey and outside hitter Aylin Saran bring international experience to Maryland.

• Since Steve Aird became head coach prior to the 2014 season, the Terps have set five of the top-10 attendance records in program history in the last two years.
• Maryland set a new XFINITY Center Pavilion attendance record with 1,752 fans as the Terps competed against Illinois last season.
• The Terps set the program record for attendance witn 4,522 fans vs. Penn State on Oct. 23, 2014.

• The Terps have five players on the roster from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia): junior middle blocker Hailey Murray (Washington, D.C.), junior defensive specialist Samantha Higginbothem (Middletown, Md.), sophomore outside hitter Liz Twilley (Ijamsville, Md.), freshman defensive specialist Nell Drummey (Silver Spring, Md.) and freshman outside hitter Megan McTigue (Darnestown, Md.).
• The Terrapins feature the last two Maryland Gatorade Players of the Year in Twilley and McTigue.
• Murray, Higginbothem, Drummey and McTigue all played club for Metro American Volleyball Club. McTigue and Drummey were high school teammates at Academy of Holy Cross.
Maryland announces 2016 broadcast schedule
• The Terps have released its 2016 broadcast and streaming schedule, with the Terps slated to have at least 16 matches featured on Big Ten Network platforms.
• The Terrapins will compete on the Big Ten Network twice, including hosting Ohio State on Oct. 26 and at Purdue on Nov. 2.

• Maryland will play 17 matches against 12 teams ranked or receiving votes in the preseason AVCA Coaches Poll.
• The Terps will take on four of the top-five team and seven of the top 10, including No. 1 Nebraska, No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 5 Kansas, T-No. 7 Washington, T-No. 7 USC and No. 9 Penn State.
