GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Maryland women's golf team wrapped up the Lady Paladin Invitational tied for 13th place Sunday.
The Terps struggled in the third round, posting their highest round-score of the young season.
Freshman Xiaolin Tian led Maryland for the second straight tournament, shooting a five-over (71-72-78/221) to tie for 34th.
Sophomore Ludovica Farina also notched a top-40 performance with a six-over (72-73-77/222).
Panitta Yusabai (75-77-76/228) and Lauren Salazar (75-78-79/232) finished 59th and tied for 74th, respectively. Ludovica Scandroglio tied for 87th (80-75-80/235).
“It was a rough day for the team and it's hard to have a good day when everyone struggles in the same round,” head coach Diana Cantu said. “This team is improving. We will have ups and downs just like everyone. We wanted to do well so badly that I believe we put too much pressure on ourselves today. We will be ready for the Cougar Classic.”
Maryland travels to the Charleston, S.C., for the Cougar Classic Oct. 2.
