COLLEGE PARK, Md. – After scoring three goals against Wisconsin in Maryland's 5-4 win over the Badgers on Friday, junior midfielder Eryk Williamson earned a multitude of awards this week. The Alexandria, Va., native was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and College Soccer News National Player of the Week. Top Drawer Soccer named Williamson to its National Team of the Week.
Williamson notched his hat trick over just 16 minutes of the second half. His second goal, a 25 yard chipped effort to the back post, was featured on SportsCenter's top-10 plays that night. Williamson leads Maryland with six goals and has also notched five assists this season.
Williamson is Maryland's third Big Ten Weekly award winner, joining Defensive Player of the Week honorees Johannes Bergmann and Dayne St. Clair.
Maryland returns to action Tuesday night for a clash with No. 13 Georgetown scheduled for 7 p.m. at Ludwig Field. The match can be seen live on Big Ten Network.
