Four Terps Named PrepVolleyball All-Americans

Burgio, Drechsel Earn All-America Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Four of the newest members of the Maryland volleyball team were named PrepVolleyball High School All-Americans, the publication announced Friday.

Outside hitter Lexi Alden and defensive specialist Sam Burgio were selected to the first team. Opposite hitter Samantha Drechsel was named to the Highest Honorable Mention squad while outside hitter Erika Pritchard earned Special Mention.

Part of Maryland's strongest recruiting class to date, Burgio, Drechsel and Pritchard were named Under Armour All-Americans in 2016 while Alden was named to the Under Armour Watch List. Drechsel is PrepVolleyball's No. 23 recruit while Pritchard is ranked No. 29. Burgio and Drechsel were included in the publication's 'The 150.'

This is Burgio's second straight PrepVolleyball All-American honor while Pritchard earned High Honorable Mention honors last year.

Alden, Burgio and Drechsel enrolled at Maryland in January to train in the spring with the Terps.
