COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland men's golf team welcomes freshman Chris Lane this semester as an early enrollment student-athlete. Lane, a native of Great Falls, Va., graduated early from The Bullis School to enroll at Maryland in January.
“We're excited to have Chris join the program,” head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. “He's a talented player with a tremendous upside. As an early enrollee, he'll get a leg up academically and we look forward to Chris getting into our starting line up in the fall.”
Lane was a four-year varsity letterman at Bullis, earning All-Interstate Athletic Conference honors in 2015 and 2016. He represented Maryland in the fall of 2016 at the Mid-Atlantic Junior Invitational.
Individually, he finished third in the IAC golf Championship and third in the 2015 Maryland State Junior. Lane was the runner-up in the 2015 Bobby Gorin Championship and finished third in the 2015 Junior Honda Classic.
Maryland will open the spring season in the Puerto Rico Classic Feb. 19-21 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
