Terps Place Sixth at Henssler Intercollegiate

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Maryland women's golf team finished tied for sixth at the Henssler Intercollegiate Tuesday at Pinetree Country Club.

Panitta Yusabai led the Terps, tying for 12th with a 220 (71-69-80). Sophmore Ludovica Scandroglio was right behind, tying for 14th with a 221(74-70-77).

Lauren Salazar and Ludovica Farina tied for 44th with 78-71-79 and a 79-71-78, respectively.

Xiaolin Tian was the fifth Terp to finish in the top 50 with a 78-76-75.

"This weekend was very up and down for us. We started off slow yesterday morning but then came back strong with a record low seven-under par round," head coach Diana Cantu said. "It was really great to watch how they were in control of their games and shot processes.

"Our goal starting the event was to play in the leading group the last round and this is the first time we achieved it this season. Overall it was a great experience for our rising team. We learned a lot this week and all of our players took a step back after the round to analyze their  game in order to adjust and finish strong when we are in this position again at our next event."

Maryland travels to back to Georgia for the Brickyard Collegiate April 10-11 in Macon.
