COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland women's soccer head coach Ray Leone named former Maryland student-athlete Stephanie Senn as the program's director of operations Thursday afternoon.
“We are excited to have Stephanie in this role,” Leone said. “She is a wonderful person and extremely accountable. She is very well-respected by our players.”
Senn played one season in College Park after transferring to College Park for her redshirt senior season. A goalkepper, Senn played in five games and started two, making a total of 13 saves.
Prior to her time at Maryland, Senn starred for three years as a starter at Kent State. In her freshman season, Senn recorded a Kent State record 13 wins and also posted eight shutouts. Her 0.84 goals against average was third all-time in a single season at Kent State.
Senn continued her strong play as a sophomore, putting up seven shutouts and 12 wins with a 802 save percentage. Her junior season saw her post a career-high 89 saves and record a 10-7-3 record in goal. Senn was a two-time College Soccer Madness All-MAC selection and a two-time MAC Defensive Player of the Week selection. She sat out her senior year due to injury before transferring to Maryland.
Senn, a native of Grand Island, N.Y., was also a one-time Academic All-MAC selection.
