Dayes Named B1G Freshman of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – University of Maryland freshman forward Mikayla Dayes was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Dayes put together a spectacular week as Maryland pushed its undefeated record to 3-0-1. The Brampton, Ontario native scored two goals, including the game winner in the 104th minute, in a 2-1 win over Gardner-Webb on Friday night. She followed that up with an assist on Chelsea Jackson's first half tally in the Terps' 1-1 tie at Furman.
Dayes leads all Big Ten Freshman with eight points and ranks second overall in the league in that category. She has three goals and two assist so far on the season, both lead the Terrapins.
Maryland is back in action Thursday night when Richmond comes to Ludwig Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and fans can watch the action live on BTN Plus.
