COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland volleyball team (3-0) hits the road for the first time in 2017 as the Terps compete in the Libery Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Lynchburg, Va. The Terrapins will face host Liberty (1-2) on Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on Elon (2-1) at 10 a.m. and Furman (1-2) at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Terps started the season 3-0 and won the Maryland Invite last weekend. Senior middle blocker Hailey Murray was named the tournament MVP while redshirt freshman middle blocker Katie Myers and freshman outside hitter Erika Pritchard were selected to the all-tournament team.

Maryland's middles were on display in the opening weekend as both Murray and Myers finished with 1.08 blocks per set (14 total). Junior opposite hitter Angel Gaskin, who set a career high with 14 kills in the first match against UMBC, notched 0.85 blocks per set.

Terp fans saw numerous new faces as many members of Maryland's top-10 freshman class took the court. Pritchard was in the starting lineup while opposite Samantha Drechsel came off the bench and played in every set. Outside hitter Lexi Alden and defensive specialist Samantha Burgio saw time in each match and setter Chloe Prejean saw her first action as a Terp vs. Northeastern.

Last weekend was also Myers' first time competing in College Park after redshirting last season. Transfer setter Samantha Snyder also entered the starting lineup.
