COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland's Big Ten opener against Minnesota, set for Saturday, Sept. 30 at TCF Bank Stadium, will kick at Noon EDT and air on FS1, the Big Ten announced on Monday.
Maryland is off to a 2-0 start for the fifth time in the last six years, upending then-No. 23 Texas, 51-41, in Austin to open the season before handling Towson, 63-17, in its home opener on September 9. The Terps are coming off their bye week this past Saturday and host UCF in their non-conference finale on September 23. That game will kick at 3 p.m. and air on FS1.
Minnesota is 3-0 on the year with wins over Buffalo (17-7), Oregon State (48-14) and Middle Tennessee (34-3). The Golden Gophers are on bye this week before welcoming the Terps.
The all-time series between the programs is tied 1-1 with Maryland's win coming in the 1977 Hall of Fame Bowl at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. Minnesota defeated Maryland last season in the first meeting between the schools as Big Ten members. This will mark the Terps first trip to TCF Bank Stadium.
