
Terrapins Start Strong in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Maryland women's golf team started strong and is sitting in third out of 15 teams at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Knoxville, Tenn. Monday.
The Terrapins competed in the first two rounds Monday and will finish out Tuesday morning.
As a team, the Terps earned a score of 573 (291-282) so far, which is +5.
Junior Ludovica Farina and sophomore Xiaolin Tian are both tied for sixth in the individual standings. Farina shot a 66 in the second round and has a score of 140 (74-66), which is -2. Tian shot a 68 in the first round for her score of 140 (68-72).
Freshman Charlotte Lafourcade is tied for 25th with her score of 145 (74-71), which is +3. Freshman Laura Van Respaille currently owns a score of 149 (76-73), which is +7. Freshman Virunpat Olankitkunchai currently has a score of 150 (75-75), which is +8.
The Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship is played at the Cherokee Country Club (par 71, 5,897 / 5,840 yards). Live scoring will be available here.
The field includes 15 teams, including BYU, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, ETSU, Illinois, Iowa, Kent State, Kentucky, Missouri, NC State, SMU, UTSA, Wake Forest and tournament-host Tennessee.
Since 2015, the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship has been played in a 36-18 format with the practice round beginning on Sunday and the three rounds being played over a Monday and Tuesday.
