
Six Terps Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Six members of the Big Ten champion Maryland field hockey team earned Longstreth/NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic Region honors Monday from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Senior Linnea Gonzales, sophomore Bodil Keus and junior Nike Lorenz were named to the 16-member First Team. Sophomore Brooke DeBerdine, freshman Bibi Donraadt and junior Madison Maguire were named to the Second Team.
Gonzales, the 2018 Big Ten Player of the Year, earned All-Region honors in all four years of her career. She scored 14 goals with five assists for 33 points this season. Gonzales started in all 94 games of her career and scored 43 goals with 13 assists. Gonzales has earned two NFHCA All-American honors.
Keus scored nine goals with seven assists while leading the Terps' defense with three defensive saves. She was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year last month. This is her second straight All-Region honor.
Lorenz was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team this fall in her first season as a Terrapin. She scored 14 goals with four assists on the year.
DeBerdine has started in all 48 games of her career. This is her first All-Region nod. Maguire earned All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team honors last year as well. This season, she scored seven goals with a team-high 12 assists. Donraadt, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, led the team with 15 goals, including the game-winner in the NCAA Semifinals over No. 3 Princeton.
No. 2 Maryland earned a record of 22-3 and swept the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. The Terrapins made their second straight run to the NCAA Championship game.
