
Solomon Eye Terp of the Week: Linnea Gonzales

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Each week during the 2018-19 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is Linnea Gonzales of the field hockey team.
Senior tri-captain Linnea Gonzales capped off quite a successful week Sunday by leading the second-ranked Terrapins to their 25th conference title. Gonzales was named Big Ten Player of the Year Wednesday and earned unanimous All-Big Ten First Team honors. In the Terps' Big Ten Championship match vs. Iowa Sunday, she created an opportunity for teammate Bibi Donraadt for the game-winning goal. She notched an assist for her efforts and as named Big Ten Tournament Most Valuable Player and was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament Team.
Gonzales and the Terrapins earned the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host Albany in the First Round Friday at noon.
