Cirovski, Pines, Sejdic, Herve Earn TDS Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski and student athletes Donovan Pines, Amar Sejdic and William James Herve earned Top Drawer Soccer end-of-season honors Monday.

Cirovski was honored as the website's National Coach of the Year after capturing his third national title. In his 26th season, Cirovski led his team on a 9-1-1 finish after a 4-5-3 start to win the College Cup. The Terps gave up just 16 goals all season and Cirovski won double digit games for the 25th consecutive season.

Maryland's boss is now one of just nine head coaches to win three Division I men's soccer titles. His 413 career wins is 16th all-time among Division I head coaches, and he is sixth among all active Division I coaches in wins.

Pines, who has started 22 matches in the center of the Terps back line, was named a first-team Best XI selection. He was sensational for a Maryland defense that gave up just 16 goals this season, and none in its NCAA Tournament run. Pines scored two goals, including in Maryland 2-0 College Cup semifinal victory against No. 2 Indiana, and added two assists over the course of his campaign.

The Clarksville, Md., native has been sensational against some of the best attacking players in the country. Forwards Andre Shinyashiki of Denver and JJ Williams of Kentucky, both MAC Hermann Trophy finalists, were unable to notch a point matched up with Pines.

Sejdic was a second-team Best XI selection. The Terps' captain, he led the squad with eight goals and added an assist. The Louisville, Ky., native was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player and was second-team United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection.

Herve was selected to the first-team Freshman Best XI after scoring four goals and adding three assists in 20 appearances this season. He scored the game winning goal in the Terps' Sweet 16 victory over sixth-seeded Duke.
