The GymTerps opened the season strong in the annual Red-Black intrasquad meet Thursday evening.
"I think this was a great start to the season," head coach Brett Nelligan said. "I am very pleased with where we are right now. We'll make a few small changes and we'll be ready for the first meet in January."
The Terps had a solid showing early in the season with Junior Tiara Wright posting a perfect 10 on beam.
"I'm really proud of Tiara, she's been giving it her all in practice and it showed in her beam performance," said Nelligan. "It was a phenomenal routine."
Freshmen Sanya Glauber and Alexsis Rubio saw their first action as Terps, impressing fans and judges appearing in three rotations..
The meet featured guest judges from Hot 99.5, football, softball, cross country and wrestling.
Maryland opens the 2019 season against West Chester, Penn and Cortland on Sunday, Jan. 13 at noon at the XFINITY Center.
