COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Nearly 1,000 donors spent Sunday afternoon enjoying interaction with Maryland student-athletes, coaches and administrators at the new Cole Field House for the Terrapin Club Donor Appreciation Day.
Maryland teams were on the field, playing interactive games and signing autographs for the avid Maryland supporters.
Tom Wenz Jr., a 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland, made the trek from Annapolis, Maryland, to get his first glance at Maryland's newest facility.
“It's amazing,” said Wenz. “I was really excited to see this in person. It's really massive, especially when you're standing on the field. The view of Maryland Stadium is fantastic.”
Wenz spent the day touring Cole Field House with his son Thomas Wenz III, a rising senior at Maryland who is a computer science major.
The two-hour event included food and an autograph session featuring the Maryland men's and women's basketball teams.
Maryland had an ambitious athletic calendar on Sunday: hosting women's tennis, baseball and men's lacrosse competitions.
