vs. For starters
• The No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (11-1, 2-0 B1G) welcomes Rutgers (6-7, 0-2) for Senior Day on Friday at 5:00 p.m..
• This game, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at noon was moved to Friday, April 6 at 5:00 p.m. due to forecasted snow on Saturday. Fans can park in lot 11B beginning at 2:00 p.m. Due to the date change, the game will not be streamed.
SENIOR DAY
• The Terps will honor seniors Taylor Hensh, Steff Holmes, Julie LeGar, Kacie Longo, Alex McKay, Emma Moss, Kathy Rudkin and Megan Whittle prior to the game.
• The 2018 senior class has compiled a 77-3 record over their careers, including a remarkable 42-0 record in home games and has helped lead Maryland to two National Championships (2015 & 2017).
NOTABLE TIDBITS
• Maryland heads into this weekend's contest with a 11-1 record and No. 2 ranking. On Wednesday, the Terps defeated #6 Virginia, 15-8, to notch their sixth ranked win of the season. The Terps have won nine straight games and hold a 2-0 mark in the Big Ten, with wins over Johns Hopkins and Michigan.
• Megan Whittle (48 goals, 11 assists) leads the team with 59 points, while Jen Giles (31 goals, 16 assists) stands right behind her with 43. Whittle leads the Big Ten in many offensive categories, including goals per game (4.00), points per game (4.92) and free position percentage (71.4%) and is second in the country in free position goals per game with 2.08, after scoring a career-best six against UMBC. Giles leads the conference in shot percentage (52.7%) and is second in the conference in points per game (3.91). Giles also ranks fourth in free position percentage (57.9%).
• This season, Maryland is 5-1 against top-ten foes, while over the past four seasons, the Terps hold an incredible 25-2 record against teams in the top ten in each of the major polls.
• Maryland is on a 71-game win streak at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex and hasn't lost in College Park since March 10, 2012.

• With a one goal lead and 20 minutes left to play, No. 2 Maryland scored the final six goals of the game to top No. 6 Virginia, 15-8.
• With the Terps holding a 9-5 halftime advantage, Virginia scored four goals in the first ten minutes of the second half to cut the Terrapin lead to one, 9-8. From there, it was all Maryland, as the Terps notched the last six scores, three by Kali Hartshorn, two by Megan Whittle and one by Taylor Hensh. Megan Taylor saved four shots in that span to keep the Cavaliers off the board for the final 20:04.

• Rutgers stands at 6-7 this season and 0-2 in the Big Ten. In their last game Rutgers defeated Lafayette, 12-9.
• The trio of Kerri Puckhaber, Samantha Budd and Abbey Brooks lead the way, totaling 34, 32 and 32 points apiece.

• The two programs met last season in New Jersey, with the then No. 1 Terps defeating Rutgers 20-8. Kali Hartshorn set a career-high seven points in her home state, with six goals and one assist. Megan Whittle also added four goals.
WHITTLE climbing up the all-time goal ranks
• In just 12 games this season, Megan Whittle has jumped from six to two in the Maryland women's lacrosse all-time goal ranks, tallying 48 goals. Whittle struck her 250th career goal in the Terps against No. 4 James Madison.
• The senior attacker now has 262 goals in her career, passing Maryland greats Taylor Cummings and Karri Ellen Johnson on her path to the all-time lead this season. Whittle is just six goals behind Jen Adams (1998-01) for the all-time lead at 268.
CONTROLLING THE DRAW
• As a team, Maryland stands second in the the nation and leads the Big Ten in draw controls per game, with 17.08, with Kali Hartshorn and Meghan Siverson leading the charge.
• In the past three games last week against Georgetown and Michigan, the Terps won the draw control battle 49-24.
• Maryland has 205 as a team through 12 games, with Siverson and Hartshorn combining for 109 of those (53.2%).
MAGNIFICENT MEGAN
• Over the past six games, Megan Taylor has been a force in the cage. The junior has 46 saves, with only 44 goals allowed, a .511 save percentage and only 7.67 goals allowed per game. In a 13-7 win over No. 8 Penn, Taylor tied her season-high with 13 saves and recorded her highest save percentage of the season at .650.

• This season, Maryland has received a lot of recognition, both on the conference and national level.
• The Terps have won eight Big Ten honors this season, with Lizzie Colson winning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week four times Megan Whittle winning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week three times and Megan Taylor and Grace Griffin each earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Big Ten Freshman of the Week recognition once.
• On the national level, five Terps were named to the initial Tewaaraton Watch List on March 1st. Senior attacker Megan Whittle and a quartet of juniors: defender Julia Braig, midfielder Jen Giles, attacker Caroline Steele and goalie Megan Taylor were all selected for the watch list.
• Lastly, this past week Megan Whittle was named the IWLCA National Player of the Week after finishing last week with 10 points, seven goals and three assists, notching four goals against No. 8 Penn and three against No. 4 JMU.
