
Cantu, Terps Release 2018-19 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Head coach Diana Cantu and the Maryland women's golf team released the 2018-19 schedule Wednesday.
The Terps open the season at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. on Sept. 9-11 before traveling to the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in Knoxville, Tenn. Sept. 16-18.
Maryland will play in the ODU Invitational in Norfolk, Va. on Oct. 5-7, then at Louisville's Cardinal Cup in Louisville, Ky. Oct. 19-21. The Terps will close the fall season at UNC Wilmington's Landfall Tradition event Oct. 26-28.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Terrapins will open their spring slate at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue, in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico Feb. 10-12. Next, they will play in Louisville's Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla. Feb. 17-19.
Maryland will take its foreign trip to the Caribbean to play in North Carolina's Tar Heel Classic in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic March 15-16.
The Terps will compete in the Bruzzy Challenge, hosted by North Texas, in Denton, Texas, then will close the regular season in the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio April 13-15.
The Big Ten Championships are at TPC River Bend in Maineville, Ohio April 19-21. NCAA Regionals will be at selected sites May 6-8, with NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. May 17-22.
"We are very excited about our schedule this year," Cantu said. "We have a great mix of events and we are excited to take our foreign trip. We had a really strong season last year with our young lineup, and we are ready to build on that."
The Terrapins earned 16 top 20 individual finishes over the 2017-18 season and won the Nittany Lion Invitational team title last fall. Returning sophomore Laura Van Respaille won the individual title. Their season culminated in a second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships - their highest finish ever in a conference tournament. Returning junior Xiaolin Tian earned All-Big Ten honors and earned an individual bid to NCAA Regionals in Austin, Texas.
